Realme today entered the Chinese markets by launching 2 new phones, the Realme X and Realme X Lite. While Realme calls the Realme X their flagship device, the Realme X Lite, on the other hand, is a rebranded Realme 3 Pro that was launched some times back in India.
Realme is originally a Chinese brand, and with Oppo and BBK Electronics on their back, it will not be difficult for them to establish their brand name there. The brand is also offering phones with a great price to performance ratio, which is a must for an unpopular Chinese brand to survive.
Realme X:
Realme X is a budget flagship offering from the company. The phone has a 6.53-inch Full HD+ 1080p AMOLED display. The display eliminates the notch for a popup selfie camera and offers a screen to body ratio of 91.2%. The phone also packs the same in display fingerprint sensor which is present inside the OnePlus 7. It is powered by the Snapdragon 710 mobile platform, which is a little old for smartphones now. The Soc paired with the Adreno 616 GPU still provides the best gaming performance in its budget though. It offers up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.1 internal storage.
The phone runs on Color OS 6 on top of Android Pie which offers some good additional features like Hyper Boost 2.0 and improved Game Space for faster performance. On the camera department, it again shares its specs with the OnePlus 7. It has dual 48 MP + 5MP cameras on the back with the primary sensor being the Sony IMX 586. The cameras offer various features like AI scene detection, Chroma Boost, Nightscape, etc. A 16 MP selfie shooter pops up from the top in just 0.74 seconds. The Realme X has a 3,765 mAh battery and supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging. This helps the phone to charge from 0 to 55% in just 50 minutes.
Price and availability:
The phone is available in 3 storage variants, 4+64 GB, 6+64 GB and 8+128 GB. The 4+64 GB variant costs 1,499 Yuan, 6+64 GB variant costs 1,599 Yuan, whereas the 8+128GB variant costs 1,699 Yuan. Sales will begin on May 20.
Realme X Lite (aka Realme X Youth Edition):
The Realme X Lite is basically a rebranded Realme 3 Pro for the Chinese markets. In terms of specifications, the phone has the same Snapdragon 710 processor. It has a bigger 4,045 mAh battery which supports VOOC 2.0 fast charging. In terms of cameras, the phone has 16MP IMX 519 camera sensor at the back along with a 5 MP depth sensor. The 25 MP front camera is present inside a waterdrop notch at the front. The phone has a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a screen to body ratio of 90.8%.
Price and availability:
The phone is available in 3 storage variants, 4+64 GB, 6+64 GB and 6+128 GB. The 4+64 GB variant costs 1,199 Yuan, 6+64 GB variant costs 1,299 Yuan, and the 6+128 GB variant will be available for 1,499 Yuan. The sales will starts along with the Realme X on May 20.
